The Worcestershire Probate Index is now available on FindMyPast. Containing over 51,000 records, it covers four varieties of probate documents: grants of administration, administrations with will annexed, limited (where the entire estate of the deceased is not covered), and wills. Each record includes a transcript that reveals when the person died, their occupation and how their estate was handled.

The index has been digitised from a typewritten copy held at Worcestershire Archives at The Hive. Andrew Harris undertook the work and corrected some errors in the process.

Meanwhile, further parish register entries for Worcestershire parishes have been released at The Genealogist website.

Also, the records of Powick Hospital, otherwise known as Worcester City and County Pauper Lunatic Asylum, have been moved to a new website managed by the Worcester Medical Museums.
