Bromsgrove Library Local Studies Collection The library holds a collection of material on Bromsgrove and the area around it, consisting books, maps, local papers, and ephemera. This includes:-
The Bromsgrove Messenger on microfilm from 1860 onwards; and the Bromsgrove Standard on microfilm from 1996 onwards.
Census for 1811, 1821, 1851; full transcripts for the area for 1891 and 1901 on microfilm.
Palmers' Bromsgrove Almanack 1860 - 1912; 1937 – 1945
Copies of wills proved at Worcester 1601 – 1650; 1660 –1699.
Books are listed on the library catalogue, available in libraries and on the County Council’s website.
An index to the local maps is available in the library and on the County Council’s website.
People are advised to book a session on our microfilm reader, if they wish to consult the newspapers or the 1891 and 1901 census.
The library has public computer terminals, which can be used to access the internet.

Evesham Library Local Studies Collection Evesham Library holds a collection of local history for Evesham and the Vale
of Evesham, including some electoral registers and local directories. The
1881, 1891 and 1901 censuses for Evesham and the surrounding area are
available on microfilm, as is the Evesham Journal from 1860 to present day
and the Evesham Standard from 1888 to 1961.
A good selection of books on researching family history is available for
loan. A Family History Forum is held monthly on the second Monday of the
month from 2.30-4.00pm when family history enthusiasts, both beginners and
experienced, can use reserved PCs to research their history and share hints
and tips on an informal basis. Help is available.

Hagley Library Local Studies Collection Hagley has a small local studies collection, covering the local area. This includes Hagley Hall, home of the Lyttleton family, who were in part implicated in the Gunpowder Plot.

Kidderminster Library Local Studies Collection Kidderminster Library has a collection of books and other materials about the local area. This includes:
- Books about the history of Kidderminster, in particular the history of the carpet industry in the town
- Books about the life of Richard Baxter
- Census records on microfilm for the local area for 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901
- Large scale maps, both historic and recent editions
- Kidderminster Shuttle and Kidderminster Times and other local newspapers on microfilm

King's Norton Library Local Studies Collection The library has a well-used local history collection of books, maps, photographs and newspaper cuttings.
The many old photographs of the area include those of the late C.A.P. Rogers and the late Arthur Allen, both local historians. The small map collection spans from the tithe maps to the present day. The Helen Goodger Collection comprises the research notes of the late Mrs Helen Goodger, local author.
There is a good range of local history books, many of which are available for loan. These books are listed on the library catalogue which is available both in the library and on the Birmingham City Council website.
Items of special interest to genealogists include:

- Worcestershire 1851, 1861, 1871, 1891 and for Warwickshire 1861, 1871, 1891.
- The National Burial Index for England and Wales.
- The streets and inhabitants of Birmingham in 1770.
- 1873 Return of Owner’s Land (for Warwickshire, Worcestershire & Staffordshire).
- Birmingham City Battalions Book of Honour 1920.
- Genealogy books for both beginners and more experienced researchers.
Birmingham Libraries has subscribed to the Ancestry.com website, this may be accessed without charge from any Birmingham City Library. The only charge incurred would be for printing.

Redditch Library Local Studies Collection The collection contains books, maps, photographs and newspapers relating to Redditch and the surrounding area. The following items are likely to be of particular interest to family historians:-
- Census schedules of Redditch and parts of surrounding area for 1851 (bound photocopies) and 1841,1861,1871,1881,1891,1901 on microfilm.
- Parish registers. Details for Redditch Parish Church including baptisms 1770 – 1972,
marriages 1808 –1973, burials 1770 – 1905; 1968 – 1970 on microfilm.
Transcripts of Feckenham Parish registers covering baptisms 1538 – 1899, marriages 1538 – 1900 and burials 1538 – 1894.
Redditch Wesleyan Methodist registers on microfilm.
- Directories. Needle District Almanacks, annual directories for most years 1873 – 1936.
- A small selection of directories of Worcestershire and Warwickshire, 1830 –1940.
- Newspapers including The Redditch Indicator which started in 1859.
Tithe apportionments and associated index maps for Feckenham completed in 1841, Ipsley 1842, Beoley and Tardebigge 1844.

Dr Taylor,s List of Delivered Women ( 1794 -1829 ) this is possibly a unique record for family research. For over 3,000 babies that Dr Taylor delivered in and around Redditch, he recorded mostly the name of the husband and his occupation. He did not record the sex of the baby, if you have the christening dates of a child born in the area between ( 1794 -1829 ) it is possible to find the exact date of birth. There is a transcript version and a facsimile version.
The library has a number of computers offering free internet access and a microfilm reader- printer which may be booked in advance.
